Eastern Connecticut Symphony Chorus to Hold Auditions

           The Eastern Connecticut Symphony Chorus will hold auditions on Wednesday, September 3, at the auditorium in Leamy Hall, U.S. Coast Guard Academy. Interested singers should contact ECSC President Kathy Walburn at ecscpresident@gmail.com to reserve an audition time. Those auditioning will be notified of the results prior to the first rehearsal which will be Wednesday, September 10, from 7-9 PM at the same location.  Please prepare a classical selection of your choice, excluding show tunes. Examples of acceptable pieces are hymns, arias, or selections from other classical works. Candidates will be asked to sight read a short selection chosen by Mark Singleton, ECSC Chorus Director. An accompanist will be provided.

Singers pay $75/year. Dues are waived for students.  Other costs include the musical scores and sheet music for each concert.  The Chorus will be performing a concert entitled “Mozart’s Unfinished” featuring Mozart’s Requiem and Solemn Vespers for a fall concert on Saturday, November 1, 2014, on the campus of Connecticut College. The Chorus will also be featured in the April 25, 2015, Eastern Connecticut Symphony Orchestra concert of “Carmina Burana” at 8 PM the Garde Arts Center in New London.
