Fall Into Knowledge with UConn!

UConn 2013 Master Composters Program

UConn Master Composters enroll in a 5 class/1 workshop/2 field trip educational program and participate in volunteer outreach activities with the goal of encouraging fellow citizens to recycle food and yard wastes through composting.  Starting Oct. 8, 2013 at the North Haven Extension office.  More information and brochure with registration form at www.ladybug.uconn.edu.  Limited to 20 interns.

Worm Day!

Free and open to the public. Oct. 12, 2013 from 10 am – 3 pm. At the Tolland Agricultural Center in Vernon. Come hear UVM earthworm expert speak on local and invasive earthworms, learn about vermicomposting (worm farming) and make your own worm bin. (bring bin materials, info will be provided). Free Fall Garden Fair

The 3rd Annual Fall Garden Day will be held Sept. 8, 2013 from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm at the New London County Extension Center in Norwich.  Free soil pH tests, garden walks and informational short talks on rain gardens, native plants, pollinator gardens and more.
