Local Eastern Connecticut State University Students Chosen as Resident Assistants

Eastern Connecticut State University recently released its list of resident assistants for the fall 2012 semester.

April Beckman ’13 of Groton, CT, has been chosen as an RA for the fall 2012 semester. Beckman’s major is Elementary Education.

Shayla Miller ’15 of New London, CT, has been chosen as an RA for the fall 2012 semester. Miller’s major is Pre-Elementary Education.

Jeffrey Sciullo ’13 of Waterford, CT, has been chosen as an RA for the fall 2012 semester. Sciullo’s major is Pre-Secondary Educ Certification.

RAs at Eastern are carefully selected and trained to help dormitory residents create an environment that is conducive to individual and social growth. Each RA creates recreational, educational and community service programming to involve students in the residence hall community and the community at large. RAs assist individual students in their social and personal development.

Approximately 60 percent of all Eastern undergraduate students live on campus. The peer support of resident assistants in bridging a student’s academic, residential and social life on campus is a critical element of Eastern’s liberal arts environment. Small classes, more than 70 student clubs and a vibrant cultural calendar contribute to the overall campus experience found at Eastern.
