Edward L. Esneault of Westerly is the new Executive Chef at Kensington’s restaurant at The Spa at Norwich Inn, one of the area’s best choices for fine dining and holiday celebrations.
“We invite the public to visit this fall to enjoy the new menu items created by Chef Ed, including locally sourced, farm-to-table selections and healthfully prepared dishes,” said John G. O’Shaughnessy, general manager of the property.
Esneault is also planning the Inn’s annual Thanksgiving Dinner, which has a large and loyal following. On the menu are traditional items included Roasted Tom Turkey with Giblet Pan Gravy, Herb-Crusted Prime Rib of Beef with Rosemary Au Jus, and Salmon En Croute. The new chef has added some Cajun and French notes, reflecting his birth and education in New Orleans. They include a cheese display from Southern France with lavender honey and fresh fruits. And the Inn’s traditional raw bar of shrimp cocktail, plus oysters and littleneck clams on the half-shell, will be accompanied by Remoulade sauce.
The dinner, which also includes soups and salads, rolls and breads, traditional vegetables, vegetarian offerings and elaborate desserts, plus a Kids’ Buffet, costs $39.95 for adults and $14.95 for children ages 6-12, plus applicable tax and gratuity. It will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. Children five and under are free.
