The Mystic Rotary Club presented scholarship awards to eight high-school students at ceremonies July 16 at the Mystic Hilton. The Rotary cites them as individuals who best fulfill Rotary’s central theme of “Service Above Self,” and who reside in the communities from which Mystic Rotary Club members are drawn.

The students and their schools and selected colleges are: Elias Gharios, Stonington, Sacred Heart University; Elizabeth Brayman, Fitch, Drexel University; Alexandra Konicky, Stonington, Ohio State University; Ben Dinovelli, Fitch, Princeton University; Jayesh Bokhiria, Fitch, Clarkson University; Grace Mills, Williams, Salve Regina University; Gabrielle Zelepos, Stonington, Parsons, The New School of Design; Kelsey Armstrong, Fitch, Western New England University.

Scholarships are paid directly to the educational institutions on behalf of the undergraduate student as assistance for one academic year. Applications for next year may be obtained from Rotary, high-school guidance departments or the club website: www.mysticrotaryclub.org.
