If you stop in at Otis Library of Norwich Fridays at 10 a.m., down- stairs you will find a large room
filled with activity as many helpers bustle about sorting and shelving book donations for the upcoming biannual booksale.
Through the efforts of Friends of Otis Library the booksale will take place on Earth Day Weekend from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday April 20, and Saturday April 21, and again
from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, April 22. Co-chairs of the sale, Torrey Fenton and Amber Price of Montville,
have been working together for years. “I started volunteering at Otis Library in 1990 as a Literacy
Volunteer,” says Torrey.
“This year we have the best
book-sale committee that we’ve ever had,” Torrey continues. “Everyone works very hard and we get the most impossible jobs done in record time: alphabetizing the fiction books and organizing other categories as well. Considering we have 30,000 to 40,000 donated books to offer, this is a true achievement.”
To donate books to the book sale, bring your gently used books, CD’s, and DVD’s to the Main Circulation Desk of Otis Library, 261 Main St., Norwich. For larger donations call 860-886-2365, ext. 125.
