9/11 Rememberances

Kent County JAYCEES

The Central Rhode Island Junior Chamber and its Kent County JAYCEES Chapter (U.S. Junior Chamber), will host a brief remembrance ceremony marking the ninth anniversary of those who lost their lives in the tragic events of September 11, 2001.

The JAYCEES invite all Rhode Islanders to attend and will be warmly welcomed to stop by the JAYCEE Corridor and Arboretum at the Riverpoint Community Park, 110 Hay Street in West Warwick.

The Ceremony is scheduled for this Saturday,September 11th starting at 4:00pm and is being held under the Eagle Scout Trellis Entrance to the state Senator Roch Riverwalk – a two mile wilderness trail at the confluence of the Pawtuxet River; Rhode Island’s longest waterway.

Subase New London

Submarine Base New London Fire Department will host a remembrance ceremony to honor the fallen heroes of September 11, 2001.  Former NYFD fireman and current Fire Chief of Mohegan Tribal Fire Department, Ron Kanterman will speak at the event.  Also attending will be members of the Connecticut Fire Service Honor Guard Bagpipe team and the Groton Police Department Color Guard.

When: Saturday September 11, 2010 at 9:30am.

Where: Naval Submarine Base New London Fire Station # 2, at corner of Route 12 opposite Gungywamp Rd., Groton
