Jon Panciera with his 46", 34 lbs Striped Bass.

Hi Resident!

We are faithful fans of the Resident… love the the articles, On the Street and especially the Seahorse Coupons!!!! My friend, Don Kostoss, (above) caught this King Striper while fishing with me on Block Island last week. I live in Mystic and Don lives in Moodus. We thought it would be great if you posted his Big Fish in your paper! I thought for sure he hooked another lobster pot! Boy, was I surprised! It measured 42″ in length and weighed 34lbs.
Kind Regards,
Jon Panciera

The Residence Inn by Marriott Mystic, a Waterford Hotel Group property, distributed televisions to United Way of SECT partner agencies on Thursday, August 26. During upgrades to the property, the hotel replaced the TVs in its rooms.

Scott Barlow, General Manager, Residence Inn, contacted United Way, who put out the call to its partner agencies. “We donated about 200 TVs.” said Scott. “I’m so glad we can put them to good use. We hate to throw anything away that is still in working order.” The property also donated gently-used linens.

The televisions will be utilized for various programs through agencies such as the Boys & Girls Club, Covenant Shelter, TVCCA, Drop-In Learning Center, Noank Group Homes and Riverfront Children’s Center.
