Preston Whiteway Speaks At The Eastern CT Chamber Of Commerce Breakfast

Several months ago 2010 Tony Awards came to New London when the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center and the Garde Arts Center hosted a televised broadcast of the event. Preston Whiteway, executive director, Eugene O’Neill Theater Center, accepted the award from Michael Douglas, an O’Neill alumnus. The hit show “Memphis,” produced by Sue Frost, Old Lyme, won Best Muscial, Best Book of a Musical,  Best Original Score (Music and/or Lyrics) Written, and Best Orchestrations. Recently the Radisson Hotel in New London during the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut’s http://www.chamberect.com/ monthly breakfast. Preston Whiteway Executive Director of the Tony Award winning Eugene O’Neill Theater Center and Sue Frost Producer of the Tony-winning Broadway musical Memphis was honored and spoke at the breakfast on behalf of the musical. “I think it’s a great honor in regards to this tremendous achievement that was bestowed amongst us, I am proud for the center and the people who made this award possible,” said President of the Eugene O’Neil theater center George White.
