On Saturday, July 17th, WNBA team, the CT Sun held a fundraiser during their game against the Atlanta Dream to benefit The Arc of New London County. The event, held in the Mohegan Sun Arena, was designed to encourage respect and understanding for people with disabilities.
During the game, fans visited The Arc of New London County’s table to get a better understanding about the local Arc chapters throughout CT and the US. Before the game the CT Sun presented the Arc of New London County a check for $3,000.
After the Sun’s victory against Atlanta, the first 500 fans were able to meet and greet with the Sun players down on the court.
The Arc of New London County was established in 1952 by parents of children with intellectual disabilities to serve the citizens of New London County. For more information about the Arc’s programs visit www.thearcnlc.org.
