The Fairview Odd Fellows Home of Connecticut held its annual Fairview Medal Dinner on Saturday, April 24. Ninety guests enjoyed a wonderful dinner catered by Gourmet Galley as well as the tribute to award winners Dr. Edward McDermott and George P. Ververis, Jr.
The medal is awarded to individuals who demonstrate extraordinary service to Fairview whether through personal effort, selfless gifts of time, financial aid, or service to residents. Dr. McDermott began as the medical director at Fairview 27 years ago. He earned his medical degree from New York Hospital Medical School. He is a board-certified internist and a senior attending physician at L&M Hospital. George is a practicing architect in Manhattan and serves on Fairview’s Development Committee. His mother had been a resident at Fairview for several years before her passing.
