Stephen W. Larcen, Ph.D., Vice President of Hartford Healthcare’s Behavioral Heath Network, and President and CEO of Natchaug Hospital, received the National Association of Psychiatric Health Systems Grassroots Leadership Award.
Stephen W. Larcen, Ph.D., Vice President of Hartford Healthcare’s Behavioral Heath Network, and President and CEO of Hartford Healthcare member Natchaug Hospital, received the National Association of Psychiatric Health Systems (NAPHS) 2010 NAPHS Grassroots Leadership Award. The award, presented at the NAPHS Annual Meeting in Washington, DC, recognizes an individual whose actions demonstrate a strong commitment to improving the lives of individuals who face mental and substance use disorders.
Dr. Larcen was recognized for his efforts to elevate the importance of grassroots advocacy within the association and for taking direct, personal action to educate members of Congress about issues – such as mental health parity and emergency psychiatric care – that have a direct impact on whether people have access, coverage and fair funding for quality mental health services.
