Submarine Base Firefighters Make FAST Rescue

Naval Submarine Base New London firefighters Kevin Wager and Scott Morris inspect the Firefighter Assist and Search Team (FAST) gear prior to beginning their shift. The equipment must be ready to go at a moment’s notice. “Being a member of the FAST team is a rewarding part of a firefighter’s job and essential to every fire fighting evolution,” said Scott. “But it is the one part of a firefighter’s job we’ll all hope we never have to do.” Kevin and Scott put their training to work on February 20th when they entered a house fire in Groton to search for disoriented firefighters from the Poquonnock Bridge Fire Department.

    Hi Missy,

We try to include a photo credit whenever we can, but I was not given the name of the photographer to credit for those photos.

    Thanks,
    Jessica
