Bradford Jonnycake Center of Westerly
The Bradford Jonnycake Center of Westerly is serving as a donation hub and distribution site for the town and all those affected by the flood. They will be joined at their facility by The Red Cross & Salvation Army. They welcome all donations, but are especially looking for donations of gently used furniture, mattresses and household goods. They are also in need of some muscle around the Center, as well as folks with pick up trucks.
Donations can be brought to the Jonnycake Center directly, or on Saturday, April 17th, the Westerly Relief Drive will be held downstairs at the Elks Lodge, 1 Dixon Street, from 10am until 6pm. All donations from the drive will go to the Jonnycake Center, as they are a staple in our community for helping those in need.
On the day of the drive donations of non-perishable food items, diapers (especially larger sizes and pull ups), gift cards, office supplies, animal food, clothes, baby items, toiletries, toys, paper goods, bedding, blankets and pillows, as well as monetary donations, will be accepted. There will be separate bins at the drive for each type of item.
There are now bins for donations at Westerly Stop & Shop, Midway Pizza, Westerly Shaws and Michael’s Texaco, Charlestown.
