Christina Mezes is the 2009 winner of the Bright Horizons Scholarship.

The Connecticut Sun Foundation announced that for the fourth straight year it will be offering one $10,000 Bright Horizons Scholarship to a worthy candidate.

To be eligible for a Bright Horizons Scholarship, applicants must be currently enrolled CT high school seniors with an anticipated graduation date of spring 2010 who are eligible to attend an accredited college or university within the state. Additionally, they must be legal U.S. residents who can demonstrate financial need.

All BHS candidates will provide information detailing leadership abilities, and two letters of recommendation referencing academic and community achievements. They will also be asked to submit a 500-word essay describing the greatest challenge in their community, and how they hope to make a positive change.

All completed applications must be received in the Connecticut Sun Foundation offices by June 1, 2010.
