The Westerly Community Credit Union is sponsoring three scholarships for local area high schools: Chariho, Exeter-West Greenwich, Stonington and Westerly. Two scholarships are for the amount of $2,500 and one is for $500.
The 10th Annual Joseph N. Cugini Scholarship is a $2,5000 scholarship for students planning to pursue Business or a Business-related major in college. Deadline: April 14.
The 7th Annual Robert M. Bewlay Memorial Scholarship is a $2,5000 scholarship for a student currently enrolled or entering college with an intended degree in Information Technology. Deadline: April 14.
The Westerly Community Credit Union is also proud to be a part of the Credit Union Association of Rhode Island (CUARI) 2010 College Scholarship Program. The Credit Union will submit the top three applications to CUARI for final review and consideration for the eight scholarships of $500. Applicants will be evaluated on a variety of criteria including the students’ academic performance, financial need, extracurricular activities, and the quality and content of an essay that addressed the applicant’s intended major field of study and career goals. Deadline: April 5.
