Women in Engineering

Elizabeth Waller Peterson is one of six local engineers speaking at the Three River’s Community College Women in Engineering panel on February 17th.

In celebration of 2010 Engineers Week (February 14-20), Three Rivers Community College will hold a panel on women in engineering on Wednesday, February 17. The panel is in partnership with the University of New Haven and the Connecticut Women’s Education and Legal Fund (CWEALF). The panel is made up of six local engineers: Elizabeth Waller Peterson, Kelli-Marie Vallieres, Eileen Ego, Karen Forcier, Donna Ryan-Rose and Nancy Selman.

The idea for the panel originated as Three Rivers’ staff began formulating an on-campus student group called WiT (Women in Technology) Connect. The group connects female students at Three Rivers who have an interest in STEM (science, technology, engineering, or math) with mentors, hands-on laboratory experience, and a series of seminars.
