At the Opening Night of the Colonial Theater’s 2009 Westerly Shakespeare Festival running until August 2, board memebers pose in front of the outdoor set of “Two Gentlemen of Verona” directed by Harland Meltzer. There is a $10 donation suggested, but the show is free to those who cannot afford a donation. Tues-Sunday at 8pm, Wilcox Park, Westerly. Bring your own chair or blanket. Snacks, soda and water are on sale by Colonial Theater volunteers. Critics On The Aisle call the production ‘A great show. Even those who are unfamiliar with Shakespeare will enjoy this romping comedy played by a troupe of talented Actors Equity Association actors. Wonderful costumes, a great set, good music, fast-paced direction, the perfect summertime setting in one of the most beautiful parks in the area. A must-see.’
