Mystic Lions Club recently inducted a new slate of officers at a dinner hosted by Bob and June Valenti. Outgoing President, Lion George Finlayson thanked the members for their support over the last two years and fulfilling the Lion’s Club goal of humanitarian service and public outreach.
Lion Joe Gush was named a Knight of the Blind by the CT Lion’s Eye Research Foundation, (CLERF), in recognition of his outstanding community service. Designated as the club’s highest honor, this award symbolizes the attributes of generosity, compassion and concern for others.
Lion June Valenti replaced the outgoing Lion, George Finlayson, as the new two year president. Other officers inducted include, First Vice President Nancy McDonald, Second Vice President Michael Cardillo, Third Vice President George Bernhard, Secretary William Burdick, Treasurer David Page, Lion Tamer Joy Helmold, Tail Twister Patti McSorley, Corresponding Secretary Sheri Pellerin, Financial Secretary Candice Antrop, Directors Bill Abt, Herb Holmstedt, Nanette Burdick and Susan Jenson, Membership Director, Maryann Read, and Committee Members John Read and Edward Hutter.
