Jack White of Deep River guides “Buelah,” a 1928 Maxim, in the parade celebrating 175 years of the Essex Fire Department’s services.
Some serious threats and minor challenges from Mother Nature did not deter the Essex Fire Department and many other participants from celebrating 175 years of service to their community. Fire Departments and Marching Units came from all over New England, and one came from Essex, England. There were 36 Fire Departments along with 87 vehicles and numerous Marching Bands. It made for a day of gathering and celebration after Mother Nature decided to cooperate.
