Dear Neighbor of Southeastern CT & Southern RI,

Here in Southeastern CT, we know that when the calendar says May, summer is finally on its way. For many businesses in the area, this means a very busy time of year. Tourists from all over the country, and the state, visit Mystic Country for its beautiful beaches, wooded trails, great family attractions and non-stop entertainment.

It’s also a great time of year for us to enjoy the many things to do in our own backyards.

According to the state’s 2007 Vision Intercept Study, which compiles information on visitors to the region, over half of the groups visiting attractions like Mystic Seaport, Mystic Aquarium and Mohegan Sun included a CT resident within their party.

This means we’re doing a great job of being ambassadors of Mystic Country. And I know the trend will continue this year as the offerings of the region continue to grow.

At Mohegan Sun, we’re gearing up for what we know will be a very exciting summer.

Hot Summer Fun starts again next month and you can count on our Wild Wednesdays parties on the roof of the Riverview Garage. You can also be sure that some of the best concert tours happening this season will make a stop at Mohegan Sun Arena, and that free headline entertainment will fill the Wolf Den all summer long. And of course, we welcome back the CT Sun for another exciting WNBA season, which began in mid-May.

Perhaps the most exciting time of the summer at Mohegan Sun will be the end as we prepare to open Casino of the Wind in late August.

This 64,000 square-foot expansion will include a 42-table poker room, additional gaming space, the return of Chief’s Deli and a two-story indoor/outdoor Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville.

I hope you’ll join us this summer, and more importantly, I hope you’ll be an ambassador of the region and share the richness and excitement of Mystic Country with your friends and family.

Sincerely,
Mitchell Grossinger Etess
President and CEO
Mohegan Sun
